Bluff
After walking back from Port Craig I stayed the night in Invercargill and then headed for Bluff the next morning.
The arrival at Bluff was underwhelming. It had been my goal for months but by the time I got there I just wanted it to be done with. In a lot of ways my TA proper ended in Mavora Lakes and from there I continued on my own way.
Still, I was there. Not a through hiker, I had given up on being a TA hiker somewhere along the line, but my inspection tour of New Zealand was coming to an end and the adjustment back to normal life would have to begin.
But not this day.
There was a couple of other things I wanted to do. One of which was go to Cascade Valley at the bottom of the West Coast so I hopped in the car and drove......
Hindsight
- I quite liked Invercargill. It is one of the few places I have been where they have a decent footpath cover.
- I made the right decision in Te Anau.
- I wish I had of gone to Stewart island.
