Étang de la Clarette near Grez sur Loing

I believe these were originally where the gravel was sourced for all the roads in the area but it has turned into a large area of shallow lakes and been taken over by birds. Its nice, reasonably flat, a good place for a picnic and you can push a pushchair on much of it.

My favorite part is if you take the left hand path (facing the lake) then you can walk up to and out on a peninsula that sticks out into the middle of the nearest lake. It is a nice place for a picnic in summer. The loop around the lake is also good for learning to ride a bicycle on although it is gravel with puddles so second level. :)
