Les sables du Cul de Chien near Noisy-sur-École
I had seen this on the map and hadn't really appreciated its possibilities. Forest sand and large amounts of boulders that are perfect for people of all ages. Proven by the amount of people climbing them really.
After parking up there is a good route that leads past a hill covered in fantastical boulders with holes, paths, steps, huts, etc... You can either get diverted, as we did, by this hill and then just make up a path toward the sand or you can keep following the main path and then take an obvious right.
At the top of the ridge line the sand starts and over the next small ridge line more sand. You can loop back down into the valley and back to the main route from there. I would suggest taking water, snacks and a hat and sunscreen/sunglasses in summer as the sand is quite white.
