Library Les Sources Vives
Situated in the town of Avon, just a stone’s throw away from Fontainebleau, The Library Les Sources Vives houses an extensive collection of books, periodicals, multimedia resources, and digital archives. Its collection spans a wide spectrum of subjects, including literature, history, science, philosophy, art, and more.
The library organizes a myriad of events, workshops, lectures, and exhibitions, aimed at stimulating intellectual curiosity, promoting lifelong learning, and fostering a sense of community cohesion. From book clubs and author readings to art displays and educational seminars, these activities provide platforms for individuals to connect, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue.
Summary of Services
Loan Services
Individuals can borrow materials upon presentation of a valid reader’s card. Loan limits 20 books and magazines, 5 DVDs, unlimited CDs, and 1 e-reader for 5 weeks. Professionals (with a Collective card) can borrow up to 40 documents for 4 weeks.
Renewal Policy
Loans can be renewed for an additional month if the items are not reserved by another user.
Care of Materials
Users are responsible for taking great care of borrowed materials and are encouraged to report any damages.
Digital Reader Card
Users can present a digital reader’s card through the StoCard application on their smartphones.
School Activities
The library hosts school visits from preschool to 5th grade students from Avon schools weekly from October to June. Sessions include library exploration and book awareness activities led by librarians. Teachers with a Collective card can borrow up to 40 documents for 2 months.
Thematic Selections
Upon request at least one week in advance, librarians can prepare thematic selections of books for various groups.
Early Childhood Activities
The library offers sessions for early childhood facilities and childminders in Avon to introduce young children to books. Childcare professionals with a Collective card can borrow up to 40 documents for 2 months.
Wi-Fi Access
Free Wi-Fi access is available upon presentation of identification. Personal login credentials are provided upon request.
Printing/Photocopying/Scanning
Printing, copying, and scanning services are available at the library for a fee. Payment is made at the library reception. Printing/copying rates vary based on size and color. Scanning services are free, and documents can be emailed or saved to a USB drive.
