Serremejan to le Pont de Montvert
This was probably the longest day on the journey. We set off from Serremejan and went to the source of the Lot for breakfast. Down to le Bleymard and then up a long, long hill that went all the way until the summit of Mont-Lozere on the border on the Cevenne. It was actually not a bad climb and the views at the top were worth it but he descent was arduous. It was incredible how different the terrain and vegetation is on the Cevenne side with large boulders everwhere, stunted trees and dry soils.
After a steep downhill path we arrived at le Pont de Montvert which is a UNESCO heritage site filled with tourists. We weren't actually supposed to make it that far but Angelynn couldn't find a decent out of town camp site and I wanted a bottle of wine. Our luck was extraordinary as everything was booked out but someone had canceled at the campsite 15 mins before we arrived. It was a really nice night.
